Mt. Maculot is a dormant stratovolcano located within the municipality of Cuenca, Batangas. Mt. Maculot stands at 957m (3137 ft).
This is the main tourist attraction of Cuenca as it is popular with, hikers and campers.

What to Expect
Mt. Maculot is a very straight forward non-technical hike. It will bring you to views overlooking Taal Lake and the countryside.
The difficulty of this climb comes with the elevation gain in such a short hiking distance. The trail is steep and definitely slippery when wet, has lots of exposed roots and has sections with loose rocks so be aware.
Majority of the trail is going through dense vegetation therefore you won't see any breath taking views till you break above it nearing the summit. Once you reach the top the views are incredible!
There are plenty of places in Cuenca to pick up snacks and water for the hike.
All and all this is an amazing hike and would strongly recommend the hike. It brings you up to cool Rock formations with breath taking views!
While you are in Cuenca be sure to check out the Lumampao View deck located just 1 km away from the Mt. Maculot Trailhead!
