Directions
The hike to Koh Phi-Phi's view point is very easy. from the core of Koh Phi-Phi it is approximately 5km's out and back and will take you past 3 viewpoints.
All you have to do is follow the road which is well marked. You also have the option of getting a tricycle ride up to the view points.
The most straight forward and easiest way to hike to Phi Phi Viewpoint is taking the stair route. Walk through the town and turn left at the end of the building of Harmony House hostel. Harmony House is located less than 10 minutes from the main port.
Directly after the Harmony House, you will see signs for “viewpoint” and “Tsunami Evacuation Route”and steep stairs going up. Climb up the stairs, through Phi Phi Arboreal Resort, and you will reach Viewpoint 1. It takes only around 10 minutes of climbing.
When you reach Viewpoint 1, you will go through a cash office, where you have to pay the entry 30 THB. From here you can continue through the Viewpoint area and follow the path upwards. There is nowhere to get lost. The way is clearly signed and there is only one narrow path you will follow all the way up to Viewpoint 2.
The other 2 options are along the roads which I have included below.
You have the option to extend the hike which will bring you to Phak Nam Bay which is a beautiful and brings you past a more local Fishermans hut section of beach or check out Rantee Beach which is also on the other side of the hill. You will see signs from Viewpoint 3 and just follow the trail
What to Expect
You can expect a mild climb with an ascent of only 173 meters. It does get hot especially mid day. I recommend leaving early to beat the crowds and the heat.
It is very difficult to get lost on Koh Phi-Phi as it is a small and easy to navigate island where locals are more than willing to help you find your way.
