The Kathu waterfalls are located Just a hald hour from Patong Beach. If you throw in "Kathu Waterfall, W8MF+Q5C, Kathu, Kathu District, Phuket 83120, Thailand" It will bring you to the end of the road Soi Namtok Kathu.
The waterfalls are divided into two areas. The one on the left is not much more than a stream of water. The real falls are on the right from the parking, past a small bridge and up a 130 meters staircase then follows along an easy to follow trail through the lush rainforest.
This hike is best done in dry season between November and March as it can get washed out in wet season.
This is a free attraction near Phuket and is a great way to see your way around this area. There are a number of other waterfalls to check out!
There are also lots of beautiful cafes and restaurants in the area.
