Directions
The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Preserve is easy to reach. It is a 50 minute drive from Dumaguete and has beautiful views from the road.
If you google maps "958J+84M Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Nature Park Tourist Information Center, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, Philippines" will bring you right to the tourist information centre. Just beyond this point is the parking lot and and the 2 trails. Before the 2 trails there is an observation deck you can check out for a beautiful look over the Lakes.
What To Expect
The twin lakes is composed of 2 lakes Balinsasayao and Davao lake. It is believed to be formed by a volcanic eruption around 10 000 years ago.
Upon arriving at the Balinsasayao Nature Preserve there are 2 hiking options. The Balinsasayao Twin Lake & The "Secret" Falls (Olayan Falls). Both routes are quick and easy to follow and both add up to 5.6kms. There is no significant elevation gain but provide you with beautiful views where the dense tropical forest opens up.
There are Kayak and boat rentals available so you can take them around the lake and you can even reach the falls with it. Boat and kayak rentals are realatively affordable being between 100 - 200 pesos / hr pending what you chose.
